Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Denys KangNews

The PTO’s Teacher Appreciation Committee, led by Kathy Shilder, participated in one of the most fun events for both staff and volunteers. Every year Central staff looks forward to receiving a pumpkin pie from the PTO.  Everyone expressed their thanks, how much they look forward to this day, and one less item to cook or bring to Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you to all the volunteers who participated and to the amazing Central staff!

Applying for Vacancy on D86 Board

Denys KangNews

The District 86 Board of Education currently has a vacancy that resulted from the resignation of Kay Gallo on Oct. 26. Per the Illinois School Code, this vacancy must be filled no more than 60 days after it occurred. Based on this requirement, the board’s goal/plan is to identify, appoint and seat a new member by its regular action meeting on Dec. 21.

Since the vacancy occurred with more than 868 days remaining in member Gallo’s term, the person who is selected for this position will serve from the date of their appointment until the date the new board is sworn in and seated following the consolidated election on April 1, 2025. During that election, voters will choose the individual who will serve the remainder of member Gallo’s term (expires in April 2027).

If you would like to be considered for the open position on the board, you must submit your application by Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. You can access the application form, which includes information about the search process and candidate qualifications, by clicking HERE.

If you have questions about applying, please direct them to Deb Kedrowski, who is the board recording secretary. She can be reached at dkedrows@hinsdale86.org or (630) 655-6108.
