First PTO Meeting of the Year this Wednesday, 9/9!

Attend the first PTO meeting in-person this Wednesday, 9/9, at 7pm in the Hinsdale Central Community Room (across from the main office) for a free chance to win a guided dinner for two at DeNucci's Hinsdale-valued at $350 & complete with beverage pairing! Please note that only in-person attendees will be eligible to enter and win. The winner of the raffle will be announced at the end of the meeting. 

Meet Dr. Chip Pettit, our new Superintendent, along with members of the District and Hinsdale Central leadership team. They will share priorities for the year ahead and take part in a Q&A with our leadership team.

Calling All 9th Graders from Our Smaller Middle Schools!

Adjusting to a big high school takes time. If you are a 9th grader from a smaller middle school and looking to meet freshmen going through a similar experience, please join the FRESH CONNECTIONS STUDENT GROUP. This group will meet every Wednesday from September 9th through 30th during lunch periods in Room 2536. Snacks will be provided. Come be part of a smaller community at Hinsdale Central!

1. High School Peer Tutoring — With P.A.S.S. Peer Tutors

• Starts: August 25
• Details: Stay on top of your work with help from P.A.S.S. Peer Tutors at Hinsdale Public Library (HPL). Tutors are available in all levels of math, physics, biology, chemistry, Spanish, and AP Euro.
• About P.A.S.S.: Peer Athlete Student Scholars is a group of Hinsdale Central students who bridge the gap between academics and athletics by providing peer study groups and one-to-one academic support.

2. Maintaining Balance in Academics & Activities — Navigating High School & Middle School Successfully

• Date & Time: Tuesday, September 8, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
• Location: The Community House, 415 W. Eighth Street, Hinsdale
• Details: Hear from community experts on the keys to success in high school. We will cover balancing academics and extracurriculars, workload management tips, strategies to stay positive, and where to go for help.
• Presenters: Presented in partnership with P.A.S.S. Peer Tutoring, D86 Hinsdale Central & Hinsdale South High Schools, D181 Hinsdale & Clarendon Hills Middle Schools, and The Community House.

3. Study Skills with P.A.S.S. Peer Tutors

• Date & Time: Sunday, September 13, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
• Details: Create personalized study calendars, review flashcards, and learn proven study strategies to improve note-taking, strengthen memory, and retain information more effectively. Led by P.A.S.S. Peer Tutors.
