Open PTO Executive Board Positions

Interested in getting more involved? The PTO Executive Board has two open positions: Secretary and Vice-President. In addition to attending two general PTO meetings per semester, the Executive Board meets periodically to discuss current business and plan future endeavors, working closely with HC administrators. Both the Vice-President and Secretary roles assist in meeting planning & execution and oversees all PTO committees. The Secretary is also responsible for maintaining organization and taking minutes at Executive Board and general meetings. The Vice-President fills an important role by assisting the President, then transitions to serving as President the following year. Sponsor A Pumpkin Pie For HC Staff

Help us show our appreciation for the wonderful Hinsdale Central staff by sponsoring a Thanksgiving pumpkin pie! Each year, the HCHS PTO Staff Appreciation Committee provides every staff member with a pumpkin pie to enjoy over Thanksgiving. This beloved tradition is one of the staff's favorite days! Whether it's one less dessert to prepare or a treat to bring to a family gathering, it's a simple way to thank our staff for all they do.

Make It Personal!
Your donation will be recognized with a special Thanksgiving sticker on each pie you sponsor, featuring your family's name: “Happy Thanksgiving from the Smith Family!”

Please Note: We are unable to accommodate requests to sponsor pies for specific staff members.

Student Council Monster Mahjong Tomorrow Night, 10/26

Last chance to register for tomorrow night's Monster Maj, a Halloween twist on Mahjong! Join Hinsdale Central Student Council for a spooky night of Mahjong, costumes, Halloween treats, and fun. Come dressed in your best costume and play with friends, family, or on your own. We’ll help everyone find a table, and all experience levels are welcome! ANYONE can sign up - Students, Staff, Parents, Family members, Community members - all are welcome! Throughout the night, enjoy spooky treats and refreshments, Halloween decorations, and a costume contest with prizes for individuals and groups. Whether you’re a Mahjong pro or playing for the first time, come ready to Mahj with the monsters!

Date & Location: Monday, Oct. 26th at 6-8pm in the Hinsdale Central Student Cafe

Registration fees will directly benefit Class Prom accounts to help offset the cost of prom as all classes raise money to offset the cost of prom tickets throughout their 4 years at Hinsdale Central. The Parent List

The Parent List: A Hinsdale PTO supported resource for all things behavioral, learning and mental health.

The Parent List contains first-hand reviews from local parents about area providers that have helped positively address their child’s anxiety; depression; school avoidance; eating disorders; insomnia; peer relations; dyslexia; ADD/ADHD; autism and more. Much like “Angie’s List,” The Parent List is an online list of resources in our community that have already been successfully used by another area parent whose child has experienced mental health, learning or behavioral issues.

Did you know that teens experiencing mental health issues may present with more subtle symptoms? For example, anxiety can show up as recurring stomach aches, headaches, sleep disturbances, school refusal or other physical complaints. Teens experiencing depression may become easily irritated on a routine basis or have more frequent bouts of crying/sadness.

Hinsdale Central Shoe Drive

Hinsdale Central Student Council is excited to announce our Shoe Drive Fundraiser in support of the 2027 Prom! Our goal is to collect 2,000 pairs of shoes while also giving back to those in need - we have collected about 250 pairs so far!

We are asking staff and students to clean out their closets and donate gently used shoes. We will accept any type and size of shoe in good condition, including: baby & toddler shoes, kids’ shoes, gym & athletic shoes, cleats, sandals, boots, dress shoes. Please bring in any gently used shoes and place them in the designated boxes at our main entrances. Every pair of shoes brings us closer to our goal of 2,000 pairs and helps support the 2027 Prom while making a difference in communities in need. All donated shoes will be distributed to people in need through our fundraising partner. Thank you for helping Student Council make this drive a success and for encouraging your students to participate! Let’s clean out our closets and reach 2,000 pairs! The shoe drive will go through November.

Stay on top of your work with help from P.A.S.S. Peer Tutors at HPL. Tutors available in all levels of math, physics, biology, chemistry, Spanish and AP Euro. Sessions held weekly.

Homework Helper Volunteers Needed
We are seeking high school volunteers to help with our Homework Helper program on Mondays and Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm
Homework Helpers is a drop in tutoring program where high school volunteers work with students in grades K-8 to complete homework or practice reading.
