PLEASE SUPPORT POST PROM 2022!
Fundraising & Volunteering for Post Prom
Senior Prom: April 30, 2022

Dear Hinsdale Central Families:
We are looking for donations, chaperones and volunteers from parents of FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS & SENIORS to support Post Prom.  This communication will help you understand why we solicit from parents of underclassmen and why your help is needed.

Prom night consists of 2 events: Prom and Post Prom:
  • Prom (hosted by the school) is a formal dinner dance at the Field Museum
  • POST PROM (hosted by Parents)
    • A skyline cruise aboard The Odyssey immediately following the dance at the Field Museum – guests will be bussed from the Field Museum to Navy Pier to board the Odyssey
    • Dancing, karaoke and refreshments are provided during the chaperoned 5-star cruise.
    • Hinsdale Police and Parent volunteers chaperone.
    • Following, students board busses back to Hinsdale Central, arriving home around 3 a.m.
PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION:
  • Our fundraising goal is $30,000
  • Our goal is to keep the cost of Post Prom at $45, depending on our fundraising success
    • Traditionally over 95% of Prom goers attend Post Prom
    • This fundraising covers approximately half of the ACTUAL Odyssey ticket price and allows us to keep this ticket price low at $45
    • This budget fully pays for students who aren’t able to afford a ticket
  • Donated funds underwrite costs for the classes ’23, ’24 & ’25
  • Our committee hasn’t had a fundraising campaign since 2019 due to Covid.  However last year we supported 2 events using funds from our reserves; consequently our reserves need to be replenished!
    • 1/2 of the ticket price for the Class of 2021 Graduation Party Cruise on the Odyssey
    • 100% of the funding toward the gift baskets that were raffled at the 2021 Prom.
PLEASE VOLUNTEER AS A POST PROM CHAPERONE:
  • Chaperones meet at Hinsdale Central at 10:30 pm and are bussed downtown
  • Chaperones manage Odyssey student check in and walk around to make sure everyone is safely having a great time.
  • Everyone boards the busses around 2:30 am to return to Hinsdale Central
  • Grab some friends and volunteer – it’s a fun sneak peek to Prom!
  • 4 – 5 Hinsdale Police Officers also chaperone
  • The cost of the chaperone transportation and Odyssey ticket is covered by Post Prom
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO MAKE A DONATION AND/OR VOLUNTEER
Thank you for supporting this amazing tradition!
