The Community House Color Walk for Mental Health, Sunday May 19th

Denys KangNews

Hello Central Parents! I’m, Jennifer Cave, I’m one of the social workers here at Central. I come to you in hopes you could join me at this year’s Color Walk for Mental Health.  This is an excellent event for the whole family! I’m very passionate about this event because not only does it help reduce the stigma around Mental Health, but it also helps support equitable mental health services for our D86 Community. Students and families have been able to access counseling through The Community House at a rate they can afford. Let’s continue to support The Community House by helping them fundraise through this year’s Color Walk.

So, come join me and many other community members on May 19th from 8:30-11am

This event is excellent for the whole family, even your four-legged friend! In 2021-2022, we had about 400 community members. Last year, almost 1000 community members joined the walk! With your help, we can double the number of participants!
If your son or daughter is in a sport, please encourage your coach to participate in this year’s event. If you are willing to organize on behalf of your child’s sport, I’ll help you register and get all set up!
I hope to see you all there!

Denys KangNews

Parents, students, and staff may all submit – ANYTIME from now through May 10!

At Hinsdale Central, many teachers and staff members go above and beyond to engage students or provide extra support to others in our Red Devil community. They teach classes, advise clubs, coach teams, and provide services that “make a difference” at our school.  If you know of a teacher or staff member whose dedication or kindness has had a positive and lasting impact on you or a student, please nominate them for a Make A Difference Award and tell us why they deserve it by completing the form available on the PTO web site or here.

The PTO presents six Make A Difference Awards each quarter. The awards include our thanks with a personalized certificate and $50 gift card. Nominations received by Friday, May 10, 2024 will be considered for the 4th quarter awards.

You can view a list of recent Make A Difference award recipients here.

Parents: Encourage your kids to submit as well!
