Young Hearts for Life EKG Screenings Available – Register Now!

Sujit MenonNews

Due to Covid-19, HCHS will not be able to offer Young Hearts for Life (YH4L) EKG screening to the students this year. As an alternative, you can register your child via Signup Genius to receive a cardiac screening at YH4L’s office in Villa Park on Sept 2nd and 3rd for a $35 donation per student. YH4L started doing screenings at HCHS in 2017 after the tragic loss of HCHS student Michael Brindley in 2016.

With the cardiac side effects of Covid-19, it is more important than ever for all young adults 12-24yrs to have an EKG every 2 years. Guidelines set up by Infectious Disease Specialists are followed for all screenings. Please sign up today!

Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year!

Sujit MenonNews

A warm and safe welcome back to the 2020-21 school year! While school may be virtual, the PTO has not gone away. We will continue to provide resources for parents. Our first PTO Meeting will be Tuesday, September 1st at 9am. Principal Bill Walsh and his leadership team will provide an overview of the school year.  This meeting will be virtual. We will publish the Zoom link the week before the meeting.
The remaining PTO meeting dates and topics are available here: www.hcpto.org/pto-business-meetings.  While we would always prefer in-person meetings, we must follow D86 protocols for safety and distancing.  As a result, when students are learning virtually, our meetings will also be virtual. Look for updates on the PTO website as the situation changes. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding during this unprecedented time.

The Parent List Needs Fresh Reviews From Parents

Sujit MenonNews

DID YOUR CHILD NEED HELP for an emotional, developmental, learning or health issue this past school year? Did you work with a provider that made a positive difference in your child’s well-being?

Please consider posting an anonymous review of that provider on the Hinsdale Central High School PTO resource called The Parent List.

The submission of reviews is closed to D86, D181 and D63 parents only. Your fresh review of a resource that you have experienced a positive outcome using recently may help a child attending school with your own.

The Parent List contains first-hand insight about health care providers  that have helped D86, D181 and D63 children with issues that include: anxiety; depression; school avoidance; eating disorders; insomnia; substance abuse; peer relations; stress; autism spectrum; ADD/ADHD and more.

Doctors, therapists, support groups, in-patient and out-patient programs, tutors, nutritionists, books, and holistic medical approaches may all be reviewed.

To leave an anonymous review click HERE

To read existing Parent List reviews, go to hcpto.org/parent-list/

Questions can be directed to:   parentlist@hcpto.org

In no way does the Hinsdale Central PTO, Hinsdale Central High School staff, school districts 86, 63 or 181 endorse or recommend any specific provider reviewed on The Parent List. The Parent List is a subjective forum set up by the Hinsdale Central PTO for your convenience. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for deciding to use any of the service providers on The Parent List in any capacity, and district 86, district 63, district 181 and the Hinsdale Central PTO disclaim all liability for any damages, injuries, losses, expenses, or claims of any kind arising out of the provision of services by anyone or any agency appearing on The Parent List.
