Thank you to everyone who was able to join the meeting either in person or virtually! It was terrific to welcome new members and families. Principal Bill Walsh thanked the PTO and community for their support that made Central’s Radical Revamp a reality; sharing remarkable before and after pictures. Assistant Principal Ryan Maita presented the new and improved Central website and the user-friendly upgrade to Infinite Campus.

The next PTO meeting will take place Wednesday, November 16th on Zoom at 6:30 pm. The topic will come from the responses to the PTO survey.

For those who attended Wednesday on Zoom, we would love your feedback! Audio will be addressed moving forward. Please email president@hcpto.org with other suggestions.

Curriculum Night & Freshmen Parent Night on Thursday 9/15

Curriculum Night is Thursday, 9/15 from 7-9 pm. Walk your student’s schedule, meet their teachers, and check out the beautiful school renovations. 1st period starts at 7 pm.

Freshmen guardians are invited to meet with their student’s guidance counselor at 6 pm prior to Curriculum Night. Each counselor sent an invitation with in what room they will be located. This session wraps up in time to get to 1st period at 7 pm.

Stop by the PTO table in the Commons to register for the PTO, sign-up for a committee, or donate to Family Helping Families and Post Prom.

2022-23 Community Speaker Series

News

The Community Speaker Series promotes district wide learning about education, child development, wellness and parenting.  It is open and free to all members of the K- 12 learning community.  The intention of the series is to encourage proactive parenting that supports children’s and adolescents’ social and emotional development as well as their academic achievement.  Through the series, D86 and D181 enlist top experts to inform and inspire our community as a means to enrich school-family partnership that supports the education of our students.

The HCPTO welcomes all new and returning students! 2022-23 is bound to be an exciting year. As a reminder, Freshmen start at 8am and all others start at noon on Tuesday, 9/6.

The first PTO meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 9/14 at 9am. The room is TBD but this year we are offering a Zoom option to allow more attendance. The meeting includes an update from Principal Walsh, a review of the new D86 and Central website, and n overview of what our students are experiencing every day including a virtual tour of the school.
