Suicide Prevention Awareness Week

News

This week Hinsdale Central staff and students will recognize Suicide Prevention Awareness week.  They will share the facts about suicide and educate others on how to help those who may be struggling.

Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background.  988 is now available nationwide as the new phone hotline number to contact for mental health, substance use, and suicide crisis – a simple, easy-to-remember way for people to get help.  This new number will allow people to quickly connect with support during a crisis, 24/7, no matter where they live. Help break the stigma against mental health.

Through Insight Collaboration, school social workers partner with the Community House to provide counseling and other mental health services to Central students who have the need but not the means. To donate to this important initiative, visit HERE and select Insight Collaboration as the designee.
